Detailed 21-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park
Our company driver will pick you up early from your hotel in Nairobi. You will drive to Tsavo East National Park, the largest park in Kenya. You will stop for lunch along the way and arrive in the afternoon. After checking in at your lodge or camp, enjoy a short game drive on your way in.
Day 2: Full Day in Tsavo East
Have an early breakfast and go for a full-day game drive. The park has open savanna and flat land, with one of Kenya’s largest rivers running through it. Tsavo East is large and gives you long drives with high chances of seeing animals. You may spot lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, elands, kudus, impalas, zebras, hyenas, gazelles, jackals, monkeys, hippos, crocodiles, and more. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, drive out of the park and visit Lugard Falls and Mudanda Rock on your way to Tsavo West. Arrive in time for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon game drive. Tsavo West has swamps, grasslands, woodlands, rivers, and rocky hills. Animals include red dust elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, zebras, hippos, and many birds. Visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary to see black rhinos. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 4: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park
Have breakfast and take a game drive as you leave Tsavo West. Visit Mzima Springs for a short guided walk to see fish, birds, hippos, and crocodiles. Continue to Amboseli National Park. This park is open and good for seeing animals easily. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 5: Full Day in Amboseli
Enjoy a full-day game drive after breakfast. Amboseli is known for its many elephants and views of Mount Kilimanjaro. You may see lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, hippos, impalas, and many birds. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 6: Amboseli to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After an early breakfast, drive toward Mt. Kenya to reach Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the only place in Kenya with chimpanzees. Stop for lunch along the way. In the afternoon, go for a game drive and visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 7: Ol Pejeta to Samburu National Reserve
Have breakfast and take a morning game drive in Ol Pejeta. Then drive to Samburu, one of the top parks in northern Kenya. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, go for a game drive to spot elephants, zebras, leopards, birds, and more. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Full Day in Samburu
Start with an early morning game drive. After breakfast, continue exploring the park all day. You may see lions, leopards, giraffes, crocodiles, zebras, elephants, and many birds. Return for dinner and rest.
Day 9: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru with a stop at Thomson Falls. After lunch, go for a game drive. You may see flamingos, giraffes, rhinos, lions, leopards, baboons, and more. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

Days 12 & 13: Full Days in Masai Mara
Spend two days on unlimited game drives. You can explore in the early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, or evening. Let your guide know what you want. You may see lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, antelopes, crocodiles, and many birds. Depending on the season, you might see the wildebeest migration. Return each evening for dinner and rest.
Day 14: Masai Mara to Mombasa
After breakfast, drive to the airstrip for your flight to Mombasa. Enjoy a last game drive on the way. On arrival in Mombasa, you’ll be taken to your beach hotel. Rest and relax.
Days 15 & 16: Mombasa Beach Days
Spend two days at the beach. You can swim, snorkel, dive, play beach games, or just relax by the water. Dinner and overnight at your beach resort.
Day 17: Mombasa City Tour
Take a city tour to learn about Mombasa’s culture and history. Visit Fort Jesus, Old Town, the elephant tusks monument, and local markets. Return to your resort for dinner and overnight.
Days 18 & 19: Haller Park and Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park
Visit Haller Park, once a quarry, now a green space with animals like giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, birds, and more. You can even feed some animals. Visit Ngomongo village for a cultural experience. Also, spend a day at Kisite Marine Park. Go snorkeling or take a dhow boat ride to see fish, dolphins, and coral reefs. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 20: Relaxation at the Beach
Enjoy a day of rest at your resort. You can swim, walk along the beach, or pack for your return trip. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 21: Departure
After breakfast, check out and your driver will take you to the airport for your flight back home.
