Detailed 7-Day Kenya & Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative. After a short briefing, you will drive through Nairobi and begin your journey to Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will reach your camp or lodge in time for lunch.
Later, head out for an evening game drive across the open plains of the Mara in search of wildlife including the Big Five, gazelles, waterbucks, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, antelopes, giraffes, hippos, and many species of reptiles and amphibians. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp or lodge.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
Start your day with a quick cup of tea or coffee, then go for an early morning game drive to catch the sunrise and see predators while they are active. Return to your lodge or camp for breakfast.
Later, head out again for a full-day game drive to explore more of Masai Mara. You can also choose to relax in the morning, have lunch at your lodge, and go out in the afternoon when it is cooler. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast and a short game drive, you will leave the Mara and drive to Serengeti National Park. Stop at the Isebania border for immigration checks and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Continue into Serengeti for a late afternoon game drive as you head to your lodge or camp. Serengeti is home to large numbers of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes, along with predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and other animals such as elephants, giraffes, and hippos.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Begin with an early morning game drive to look for big cats and other animals. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterward, head back out to explore more of the Serengeti plains and look for the Big Five.
If you visit during the right time of year, you may also witness part of the wildebeest migration. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.
Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the best places to see the Big Five. Along the way, travel through a different part of Serengeti to increase your chances of seeing more wildlife.
Arrive at your lodge or camp near the crater for dinner and overnight stay. Game viewing inside the crater will take place the next day.
Day 6: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer to Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. This area is home to many animals including lions, cheetahs, and flamingos. You have a good chance of seeing the Big Five and many other animals during this drive.
After the game drive, return for lunch, check out, and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This park lies at the base of the Great Rift Valley and has a shallow soda lake, tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.
Day 7: Game Drive in Lake Manyara & Transfer to Arusha or Nairobi
Start your day with a short morning game drive in Lake Manyara. The park has a mix of forest, swamps, grasslands, and lake shore, all attracting many animals and birds, especially flamingos.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Arusha or return to Nairobi for your flight home.
