Detailed Kenya Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi and to Masai Mara National Reserve with a stopover at the view point of the Great Rift Valley, descend the escarpment and drive via Narok town then continue to Masai Mara NR for lunch at your camp / lodge. After lunch proceed for afternoon game drive in Masaai Mara Reserve famous for its black manned lions and yearly migrations of wildebeests from Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at your camp / lodge.
Day 2: Full day game drive
After an early morning breakfast, you will set out for a full day of game viewing and exploring this spectacular park. You can choose to pack a picnic lunch that you can have in the wild as you view the Mara River or opt to drive back to the camp / lodge for a freshly served hot lunch.
After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in search of the African big 5 in the world famous Masai Mara national reserve blessed with an excellent all year round concentration of amazing animals and home to the great wildlife migration in the months of July – October when 2 million Wildebeests and thousands of Zebras make their way northwards to Masai Mara from Serengeti National park in Tanzania.
You are able to spot zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. Retreat from the day’s activities and return to the camp / lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru
Head out for a pre breakfast game drive for a chance to catch up with the predators that the roam the Mara reserve as the make a morning kill or feast on their night kill.
Watch the sunrise and the park come to life. Return to the camp / lodge for your breakfast, check out and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in the late afternoon. Have your lunch, sit back and enjoy the available lodge amenities. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Nairobi
Wake up to a beautiful morning have an early breakfast and prepare for a morning game drive around the bird sanctuary of Lake Nakuru, dotted with pink flamingos (note that the population of the flamingos at Lake Nakuru has greatly reduced over the years) and other species of birds.
Other animals can be sighted in the park including the Rothschild’s Giraffe, reedbucks, waterbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and several other species of plains game. Have lunch at the camp or lodge before hitting the road to Nairobi for dinner and an overnight stay at your city hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park via Arusha
Pick up from your hotels in Nairobi at 5.00 am for an early drive to Lake Manyara National Park via Arusha in Tanzania. You will stop at the Namanga border post for immigration formalities, arrive in Arusha and stop for a delicious breakfast after which, you will proceed to Lake Manyara National Park.
Embark on a game drive in this beautiful park that boasts of a spectacular array of diverse terrain as well as plant and animal species which include its unique tree climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, impalas, giraffes, hippos and thousands of flamingos and other bird species on the shores of Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast and a morning game drive in Lake Manyara NP, transfer to Ngorongoro crater arriving in the afternoon. Descend into the amazing scenic crater for a full afternoon crater game drive with break for lunch at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site. The Big 5 African animals and other different animal species inhabit this beautiful crater. Retreat from the activity and had to your camp / lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, check out of your accommodation facility and drive to the famous Serengeti National park arriving in time for lunch after which, you will go for an afternoon game drive in this unique park. Serengeti National Park is home to vast populations of wildebeests, antelopes and zebras among other animal species like elephants, hippos, and giraffes. The picturesque Serengeti is an excellent place to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp or lodge in the Serengeti.
Day 8: Full day game drive adventure in Serengeti
The word ‘serengeti’ means endless plains in Maasai language. So on this day you are going to roam the endless plains of this world famous park for chances of spotting the vast populations of the different animal species that traverse this wilderness. Lucky enough, you could get a chance to witness the annual great wildebeest migration happening. Dinner and overnight in your camp / lodge.
Day 9: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast and a morning game drive in Serengeti National park, transfer to Tarangire National park with lunch en-route. Slightly off the main Northern safari circuit route, Tarangire is a lovely and quiet park in the Northern part of Tanzania. The middle and the end of the dry season that runs from late June to October is the best time to view wild life in Tarangire National Park. The big numbers of elephants during this season are an amazing sight to see, baobab trees (these grow in the open acacia) on top of tree climbing African pythons which give wonderful sightings to see make Tarangire a popular safari destination. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.
Day 10: Transfer to Arusha
After breakfast proceed for your last game drive of this 10 days safari and leave Tarangire National park for Arusha arriving in the afternoon where your safari ends.
