Detailed Kenya Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi
Up on your arrival at the airport for your Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari, our company representative will pick you up and drive you to your city hotel Nairobi where you will stay for the night. Depending on your arrival time, you can decide to go for a short introduction city tour around Nairobi. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive to Samburu National Reserve
Waking up to the sounds of Nairobi City, you will have your delicious breakfast and then hit the road to the wild side of Kenya. You will drive to the National Reserve situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River. Drive through central Kenya and North across the Equator. You can have a brief stopover at this point. You will reach Samburu NR in time for lunch, thereafter you will head out for an afternoon game drive in the national reserve or opt for a relaxing time at the lodge / camp. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 3: Game drives in Samburu
A whole day full of game viewing awaits you with relaxing interludes after the different game drives. Pre-breakfast game drive, mid-morning and late afternoon or evening game drive. Samburu National Reserve is blessed with an abundance of rare Northern specialist Species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx among other species like elephants, gazelles, waterbucks, baboons, lions, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, hippos, hyenas, e.t.c. Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
After your breakfast, you will drive to Lake Nakuru National Park viewing different animal species as you head out of Samburu NR. You will arrive in time for lunch, thereafter head out for an afternoon game drive towards the Lake Nakuru in the national park. Lake Nakuru NP is home to over 400 bird species and thousands of flamingos. The park also hosts the black and white rhino population in its sanctuary, one of the largest in the whole country. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru NP to Masai Mara National Reserve
Early breakfast and a morning game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru National park for the infamous Masai Mara National Reserve through the beautiful landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Arriving the Mara in the afternoon, you will have lunch and then you will go for an afternoon game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.
Days 6 and 7: Full day in Masai Mara
You will spend these 2 days roaming and exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve, the most famous and most visited Game Park in Kenya. It is home to a varied number of wildlife and the famous Great Wildebeest Migration that happens annually (July – October).
The game drives in the Mara will give you a chance to witness this great natural wonder and also spot many different animal species including the African Big 5, other lesser animals, hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Naivasha
Soon after you have had your breakfast, you will procced to Lake Naivasha National park. From here you shall visit the Hell’s Gate national park. Take a walk and explore the canyon, you will also be able to spot some animals. Amazing walking safari or you can explore Hell’s Gate while riding mountain bikes. Marvel at its amazing topography and geological scenery. Retreat from the activities and check in at your lodge / camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Amboseli National Park
You will go for a morning boat ride after breakfast on Lake Naivasha, expect to see different species of birds, hippos and other wildlife that comes to quench their thirst at the Lake and thereafter go for a short walking safari on the nearby Crescent Island.
After these activities, you will proceed to Amboseli National park via Nairobi. The park’s rich ecosystem displays an impressive wildlife variety. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species like giraffes, gazelles, buffalos, warthogs, impalas, water buck among others. You will reach this picturesque park in time for lunch after which you will go for an afternoon game drive. An introduction to the park and its residents. Day 10: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will check out and head out for a game drive on your way out of Amboseli national park. Marvel one last time at the picturesque backdrop of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro further on the Tanzania border. The tallest mountain on the African continent.
Proceed to Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania via the Namanga border. Famous for its tree climbing lions, Lake Manyara NP is an amazing park to visit. Enjoy the scenic views as we drive through the park to your lodge / camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Embark on an early game drive in this beautiful park that boasts of a spectacular array of diverse terrain as well as plant and animal species which include its unique tree climbing lions, elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, impalas, giraffes, hippos and thousands of flamingos that flock the lake seasonally and other bird species on the shores of Lake Manyara.
Procced to the famous Serengeti National park. Home to vast populations of wildebeests, antelopes and zebras among other animal species like elephants, hippos, and giraffes. Have your lunch and then embark on an afternoon game drive in this amazing game park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 12: Whole day in Serengeti
Spend the whole day exploring Tanzania’s largest and most famous national park. The picturesque Serengeti is an excellent place to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs among other animal. Day 13: Transfer to Ngorongoro (Crater) Conservation Area
With one last game drive in Serengeti National park, have your breakfast and then proceed South East wards toNgorongoro conservation area. Arriving in time for lunch, enjoy your meal and there after descend in to the beautiful scenic Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon tour of the world renowned crater. Day 14: Transfer to Tarangire National park
After breakfast and a morning game drive in Ngorongoro, you will drive to Tarangire National park. With a permanent water source (Tarangire River), the park is virtually guaranteed vast herds and excellent game viewing including predators like the big cats (lions, cheetahs, leopards) and hyenas and herds of elephants, the oryx, gerenuk, zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos and over 500 species of birds. Reach in time for lunch thereafter, go for an afternoon game drive to explore the game park. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge / camp.
Day 15: Arusha to Nairobi
Pre-breakfast game drive to rise and shine with the park and for chances to spot the predators and the nocturnal animals. Drive back to the lodge / camp for a delicious breakfast and then prepare for your journey back to Nairobi (Kenya) via Arusha (Tanzania).
