Detailed Kenya Tanzania Lion & African Wild Dog Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival at the airport for your Masai Mara & Serengeti Safari , you will be met by our company representative for a short meet and greet and to welcome you to magical Kenya. After a briefing about your safari, you will drive through Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve, your first reserve stop arriving at your camp / lodge in time for lunch.

You will later on head out for an evening game drive across this beautiful dotted plains of the Mara in search of game that includes the big 5, gazelles, waterbucks, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, antelopes, giraffes, hippos as well as many species of reptiles and amphibians. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.

Day 2: Full day Game drive in Masai Mara

After a quick cup of hot tea / coffee, just to wake you up, you’ll head out into the park for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive to watch as the sunrises over the savannah and for a chance to spot the big cats take advantage of the morning cool to search for a meal or feast on their night hunt.
You’ll then return to your camp / lodge for breakfast before heading back out into the park for a day of game driving exploration of the Masai Mara NR. You may also opt to relax at your lodge in the morning, enjoy lunch on site, and then head out again in the late afternoon or evening once the weather has cooled off a bit. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast and a morning game drive you will depart the Mara for Serengeti National park as you cross the border viewing wildlife this morning.  You will have a brief stop at Isebania border for immigration formalities and early picnic lunch. Thereafter, you will continue on into the world-famous Serengeti National Park for late evening game drive en route to the lodge.

Serengeti National Park is home to huge populations of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes – the picturesque Serengeti is an excellent place to spot predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as well as herbivores including elephants, hippos, and giraffes.

Day 4: Full day in Serengeti National Park

You will wake up to an early pre-breakfast game drive in the famous Serengeti National Park. Marvel at the beauty of this wilderness as you search for the big cats on the hunt for their morning meal or on a feast of their night kill. Drive back to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, you will head back and roam the open plains of the Serengeti NP searching for the Big 5 African animals and (if the time is right) catch and marvel at the movements of the famous Wildebeest Migration.

Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro (Crater) Conservation Area

After breakfast, we get right on the road back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the best place to see the Big 5 animals. Visiting Ngorongoro Crater is like stepping into an adventure wonderland. Ngorongoro is a sprawling, forested volcanic crater teeming with lions, cheetahs, flamingoes among other different species of wildlife in vast numbers.

You will drive back through the Serengeti via a different route, offering plenty of opportunities to spot the animals that eluded you on the previous day. Dinner and overnight on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater or in a nearby town according to the standard and the type of accommodation requested from our options. Game viewing within the crater will be on day 6 for about six hours before we proceed to Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 6: Game Drive and Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will go for amorning game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Natural Wonders. Teeming with vast populations of different animal species. Best place to see the Big 5 and a high density of predators which this morning game drive provides you a good chance to spot. Head back to your camp / lodge for a hot lunch, check out and transfer to Lake Manyara National park.

Lake Manyara is one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Western Escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at your camp / lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Arusha or Nairobi

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, followed by a delicious breakfast at your camp / lodge. The Park has a variety of diverse habitats such as evergreen underground water forest, woodlands in the western shore of the lake, extensive swamps, grassland and alkaline lake where in its edge provide feeding area for a thousands of flamingos and it’s the only area in Tanzania with large number of birds’ species.
